Join thousands of your friends and neighbours at the Great Scottish Run this year, the country’s premier running event. 

 See the two sides of the city from urban streets to Glasgow’s greenest spaces on a stunning route that passes some of the city’s most famous landmarks.  Starting in the heart of the city, runners soak up the atmosphere and music all the way to the finish in Glasgow Green, passing our famous entertainment zones every kilometre.  It’s a party atmosphere from start to finish. 

It’s a run for everyone, from locals to celebrated athletes, whether it’s your first 10k or your 50th half marathon.  An inclusive celebration of Scottish running, with music blazing, crowds buzzing, legs pumping and fists bumping.  Glasgow comes alive on Great Scottish Run weekend. 

We support you from the get-go with training plans & advice, race day prep and motivation every step of the way.  We roar you across the finish line and applaud your success in the event village.  It’s an event day experience like no other.  

Great Scottish Run entries are open to runners aged 15+ (10k) and 17+ (Half marathon) on the day of the event.

The Route

The Great Scottish Run will take you on a stunning 10k or half marathon route past the city’s most famous landmarks, along the River Clyde and through some of Glasgow’s greenest spaces.

The Course

The 10k route starts in George Square, taking runners West towards Finnieston before crossing South of the River Clyde which marks the half way point – runners then pass the beautiful Festival Park and across Squinty Bridge with views of Finnieston Crane, before the homestretch along Broomielaw, and a grandstand finish in Glasgow Green.

The Half marathon route follows the 10k route out West towards Finnieston before crossing South of the River Clyde, through Maxwell Park and the stunning Pollock Country Park which marks the half way point – runners continue through their journey through Bellahouston Park before joining the 10k route at Festival Park, crossing Squinty Bridge with views of Finnieston Crane, before the homestretch along Broomielaw, and the finish line in Glasgow Green.
